We've been checking out Home Recording for a few weeks now, and given the number of reported threads, we really think it’s time to
organize a little moderation team here.

It’s obvious that the best moderators we could choose would be selected among the well established and respected members of the website,

so why wouldn't you be interested?

Just to be crystal clear about moderation, here is what we think a moderator should do:
Moderators are not policemen, we’re not talking about establishing a Military Regime here.

Their primary "duty" is to maintain clean and easily understood threads in technical forums (The Cave is not concerned by moderation
so far). The biggest part of the job is getting rid of spammers.

Most of all, Moderators are active members. That’s the most important part.
Helping newbies and presiding over technical threads are the key things here. Some people here already help the community a lot, we're not
asking for more than that. We'll just give you the tools you'll need to do the job right.

Finally, as we don’t really have the opportunity to spend as much time as we would like with you here on the forum, moderators will be the
link between the community and the Audiofanzine team. Gathering questions and issues in order for the community to be as happy as it
should be.

I suggest that moderators should have a specialty, such as “microphones”, “guitars” or any other forum.

Making a moderator team will permit us to bring back some features such as signatures, since moderators will be able to
watch over any abuse.

So why not be a moderator?

If you’re interested, just send me an email!

And for any questions, let’s discuss it here!

If I can't moderate The Cave I'll...why I'll... I'm tellin' ya' I'm gonna...

Well I'll just keep getting into political dogfights prolly.

Then welcome to my merry band of jack-booted thugs! (MBJBT)

Hey, everybody that wants to join, change your title to include MBJBT! It'll be just like grade school!*

* in grade school, we formed a "pen and pencil repair club". First we stocked up on pen parts (y'know, those old US government-style click pens), mostly from stealing, then we went around and broke a lot of pencils, and we charged people money to give back their pen parts, and repair their pencils with Scotch tape. Not too different than muttley's guitar repair business, actually :p

I resent that. I do not use scotch tape.

And my title is already quite befitting of your new organisation..

I like the new owners! I mean, nothing against Dragon, but he never created an entire board dedicated to the purpose of mocking him. But these frogs, they are really good sports. I can make fun of them all I like, and they never censo

We don't need no steenken mods!

I volunteer to mod the HR Compilation CD forum, and the Aardvark forum if you set one up.

Strike that. This is a commercial venture. What's modding pay?

Wow, this is the first time I've seen a pizza ad in here. Now I'm hungry.

The pleasure of crushing leftist agitators under the heel of your boot!

And some of that pizza would be good, too :o

I would like to volunteer to moderate mshilarious...in a manly way, of course.

No, that looks German and they don't get the right sound for the term. I've never figured out though, why the French don't call Americans "Dogs" in retaliation, since American English does sound similar to dogs muttering and grumbling, IMHO. Maybe it's strictly a classic Brit/French thing? Dunno. I'll have to go watch the tennis scene from A Good Year again.

...and given the number of reported threads...

Have you got a breakdown by poster, reporter, and forum for the reported posts? I'd guess the problem has a lot to do with, well, that it's mostly gone now.

I would like to be taken out of the running for a possible moderator on account that I am a feckless arse hole who doesn't have a clue.:D

Which could make you the ideal candidate...if you do not run, I shall write you in.
