Hi All: Thanks again for the help with figuring out my problem with the hum. I am going to have it fixed and sell it seeing I now have a new 1010. I realize now my old 1010, which I bought used, had problems from jump-huming. The new one is dead quiet. Here are a few questions I have that maybe someon can answer.

1. I use the #1&2 ouputs on the 1010 for my monitors and headphone monitors. I have to swap out the cables when going from one to another. Is there anyway to leave all 4 cables plugged in? I have tried the other 6 outputs but can't get any sound out of them.

2. Is it wise to unplug the 1010 when not in use?

3. Is recording in 32 bit an advantage over 16 bit even though on play back it has to be in 16 bit? The delta allows 16 and 32, but not 24 bit. I use samplitude recording software. Thanks!

Sounds like either the software you're using doesn't support multiple outputs or you have some setting in the Delta control panel set wrong. If your app supports multiple outputs, just route everything to a bus and send its output two ways---one output route to channels 1 and 2, one output route to channels 3 and 4. The specifics vary depending on the app. I've never used Samplitude, so I can't say anything about that app in particular.

Shouldn't matter, really....

The Delta 1010 does support 24-bit.... It does not natively produce 32-bit audio, so if your app is showing 32-bit, it is likely entirely fiction and is probably just 16-bit audio converted to 32-bit floating point.

Try a more recent version of Samplitude (or use a different app) that supports 24-bit audio correctly.

I remember trying to run studio monitors from 1/2 out and headphones from 3/4 out but was never able to get them to work at the same time (in Cubase SX3). I asked here and got a few suggestions that didnt work and a few posts saying it couldn't be done - without going into the Delta mixer and reassigning the busses each time.
One of the few things that got to me about the 1010 was the lack of headphone jack and the fact that all of the ins/outs are on the rear panel - even just to have a single set of ins on the front makes life so much easier (that's why I went with the Echo 3G when my 1010's capacitors died). I spent a lot of time with my arm around the back of my rack unit in the dark swapping the monitors and headphones -it probably can be done but I couldn't come up with a solution at the time...

for monitoring with cans, I used outs 3 and 4 with no problems.....1 and 2 go to my monitors, 3 and 4 went back into my mackie 1202 to send to phones....the mackie was only to get sound to the phones for tracking and was not in my recording chain...I also had a mic plugged into the mackie to use as a talkback mic....this has now all been replaced by a Mackie HUI...
