great song and great sound ... again.. Loving the tom sounds and the stereo image of the kit..
Thanks a lot aidan. :)

good tune!

the mix sounds over compressed and mid rangey on top or too bright to me though..

maybe it's just me.
Hmmm, I've listened on a bunch of different systems now and I don't get that. :o

Sorry man, but thanks a lot for checking it out.

Greg,

So here's my main points on this song:
1 - It rocks.
2 - The singing rocks.
3 - The guitar playing rocks.
4 - The bass playing rocks.
5 - The drums definitely rocks. (Sounded very high energy and reminded of Skid Row in places).
6 - The Lyrics are standard rock 'n roll lyrics.

Overall, it sounds very polished. The mix itself sounds really neats. Just the right bass for the genre.

All instruments are played super. Mixed very nice. You're in a ways an inspiration to every one man band hoping to put together a cool track.... :)

Haha, thanks a lot. Being a one man band is the way to go. No egos, no compromises, no arguments. It's either my way, or my way. :D

Out-freakin'-standing energy as usual, Greg. How the hell do you do that? I really like the song and see it in film/TV on some really edgy sci-fi whacko movie.

Only one nit and it's only because I'm listening with cans: The rhythm git plays two measures of the lead in panned way over to one side. On cans it sounds too distant. Then on the third measure you have it in both speakers and it sounds full and meaty.

Couldn't you just clone it and pan it just right of center to balance out the far left sound?

Just tell me to shut up. It's a great song. Another Greg masterpiece.

Tell your dog I said hi,

Xeries:)
Thanks Xeries. I get what you're saying about the guitar. That's intentional though. It's the far left guitar, then the quick drum beat, then the other guitar comes in on the other side to build up and blast off into the verse. I kinda ripped off that build up idea from the intro to the Ramones' "Animal Boy". I can see how it might sound a little wongo on headphones though. ;)

Definitely a lack here...

Of suckage.... :D

Nice job again, you talented bastard!

Thanks bud. I appreciate it. :)

Strong guitars and drums and basically instruments in this song. This isn't a cover right? Sounds very kind of genre...a type of music which I can't really cite. The 'in the psych ward' lines are very well done. It's a great track. You've gotta be happy with it. Not strictly my kind of music...so I used to live next door to a fella who spent a couple of months in a psych ward because he was addicted to speed and became a bit of a loose cannon. Anyway, it's a great track.

Thanks dude. No it's not a cover. It's all mine. :D

I don't know what genre this would be. I consider it "punk" because I'm heavily influenced by the old punk masters, but I always end up incorporating some kind of "metal" little somethings in my stuff like the harmonized solos. I dunno. It's just rock and roll. :)

Really cool.

At the beginning the hi-end of the cymbal stuff is either too loud or too bright. In the song itself it seems to work fine.

A fun song. I might pan the backing "wooooooaah" vocals a little harder left or right so they don'e compete. Solo could be a little louder. Low end of the drums sound really good on my monitors. Good mix, nice and clear.:)

That's a lasting tune! The production is ace too.

My only comment is another verse on the dynamic of a character in the psych ward would be cool.

Good stuff Greg! Took my mind off the restraints binding my wrist and ankles!!!

Cool tune. I likey it. Oh yea. QUIT DOIN ALL THOSE DAMN COVERS, YOU LAZY ASS !!!!!!! YOU SHOULD BE BANNED !!!!!!!! :)

Thanks. I tried to keep it lyrically sparse so it's not too long. :o

Thanks man. Bust out a backside boneless. ;)

The mix is great! Nice and open, room for everything.

Vox sound great. BU vox are great.

I really like the lead tone.

This is a really great mix.

The solo at the very end is a bit heavy on the 3k for my taste, or maybe just a tad loud. That's really a taste thing. I think this is one of your best mixes yet!

Very cool!

F.S.

Thanks a lot FS. Yeah I'm pretty happy with it. I'm gonna do some minor tweaks based of yalls recommendations, but I won't be able to mess with it till later in the week.

Well, at least you aren't polluting the forum with awful covers.... :)

Great tune. You recordings are getting better everytime. I don't see anything wrong here. Love it!
