Hi, new to the BBS. Our band practices in the basement and we are in a circle. 2 guitars, keyboard, bass and drums. The decibel level is appr. 107 and we have trouble hearing each other. Is it better to put all the amps on one wall? Any info. will really be appreciated, Thanks!

Someone's bound to do this so I may as well grab it..
You're now aiming more or less at each other, but can't hear one another..
Not loud enough.

No wait that can't be it... ;)

Hmm. I was once in a band running (4) JBL D130's full bore (10 D130/140's between the three of us). In a line across the stage, I couldn't hear past the drummer and bass to the other guitar at all most the time.
So much for in-line. :D
Really, there's a thing about sound density. You may have noticed this. As it goes up, the amount of flexibility in the mix, the difference between 'can hear it' vs. 'can't- goes down. Example. On an electric/acoustic stage the dynamic, the ability to hear and communicate is wide open. On a high density stage -only the top sh*t squeaks through. (Then as a double whammy, everyone tends to have to play it that way too..
'Live, 'tape, never seen it otherwise.

Thanks Mixsit!

I think I may have missed it . How would you set up in a basement?
