Done downloading,
I started off wanting the chop chop piano to be louder - but then I realised it's place in the mix - this may mean something but I don't know what.
B Vox sound great.
Drums sound fantastic - different snare sound? Sounds good - suits the song.
Rhodes piano needs to be a little louder at the beginnig of the solo - actually the whole solo.
The synth line - is it guitar? It's not balanced by something on the other side - but that may be my stuffed ears!
The bass solo is CCOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Terrific song - just replaying to dig the intro again - there's a little COTCentury about the intro - the dynamics and the fact that it's not just a couple of bars to get the beat.
I'm happy now - another LPC song to listen to. New album will be out...?

wow

Can i call you MASTER?!!!!!!!!
What a beautiful mix, it sounds better than professional to me:confused:

explain how did you achieve it:D

Thanks, ray. There's lots and lots of compression on a room mic and the snare is fairly wide open, without any damping or gel. It sounds ringy in the while we played it, but compressed it seems to complement the mix.

We've want to put two or three more songs on this one. I think we've got nine at this point, and we're likely to drop the weakest.

Thanks Royleking. It's mostly vocals, so one. track. at. a. time.... :D

This sounds unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. Much much better than a lot of commercially available music at the moment.

Off topic - Supercreep, I fell in love with a LPC song a very long time ago, but I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it... it had 'Radio' in the title though I'm pretty sure.
Can I buy/download it from somewhere?

Nice one guys....drums sound huge.....great ring on those crashes. Love the bass tone and space it has. Nice playing Steve....:D

Great vox as always man...sounds most excellent.

I have no nits I could think of that might improve anything....:D

Excellent tune guys. The drums sound good, as does all the rest of the instruments. I agree the piano solo could come up a touch. Does remind me in spots like COT Century...:)

Sounds fantastic. The only things I would even think about changing is bringing down the Hihat just a tiny bit (is it on a separate track?), maybe bring the OH's up a touch, and either bring the vox up just a touch, or add a bit of presence to it. The vox is great, and just seems a tiny bit veiled.

Bass is wicked. I really like the sound and the playing!

Great work! :D

edit - as far as the HH and OH's I'm talking about after the intro.

Awesome song, Casey!!!!!

I hear Steely Dan unfluence and nuance.

My only nit is......

I would let the song begin Here with the best bass performance I've heard in quite some time.

:) I tweaked the file a bit. ;)

Agree with the previous posters , top knotch performance/recording all the way..love the drums on this especially the snare! That bass is killer as well...great job!

Nice song man! I feel a kind of Steely Dan atmosphere about it. Beautifully written and arranged, great melody. Love the bass solo...

Cheers
Joe

I'll have to wait to buy the CD. NowhereRadio is the only place that I can't stream or download from.

I'm dying to hear this based on the feedback.

Wow! This sounds really great! I'm seriously impressed. One of the best sounds I've heard on HR.C in a long time. The only critique I could offer is that the hi hats sound a little bit too bright for my taste. The highs could come down a bit. Everything else is PERFECT!

All right.

Looks like we might have done OK with the first mix here. Great!

Thanks for all the nice compliments on the bass solo!!! We hadn't really planned on it, it just sort of happened.

Now that I've had a chance to listen to this on the headphones, I agree with Ray about the mellotrons in the chorus--they're too far panned left. Also, the Rhodes solo will get a slight boost.

After that, I guess we're done with this one!

excellent work, you're a good singer and the song is really nice.
I agree that the piano at start needs to come up a bit.
It could use some guitar here and there but not much. Great songs dont come to a conclusion in a few weeks but months and sometimes years of tweeking and changing. I would say keep working on it until you're completely satisfied. Give it a rest for a few weeks and come back to it.

I love your guitar playing and you could balance the mellotron with some superb noodling or some big muff sustained lnes.
It's hard to say exactly what - you'd have to drop a track on & see if it fits really.
The drums are sooo fine!
