Fits right in with the Neil Diamond advertisement under the first post...

This rocks hard! Love the vocals, need more lead volume. This is up there with some of the best rockers we've had lately. Tell me about the bass guitar... seems a tad low/absent but the rest cooks! Definitely a head bopper....:cool::cool::cool:

Thanks man! Do you mean more lead vocal volume or more lead guitar? I'm kinda thinking after letting the mix sit for a couple of days that the lead guitar can come up....there is no eq, compression on any of the guitar tracks yet...I'm trying to take my time and get it better then my usual rush job :p...all guitars and bass are thru my podxtlive...I use the bass model packs and a Peavey T-40 bass.
Thanks for listening and the feedback!!

Is this a well-known song? I don't remember it, but you score huge points for tackling a Barry Manilow tune to begin with. Guitars sound great. Yes, I think the lead could come up. I also find the bass to be a bit too quiet. Delay on the vocals (which are well done!) is maybe a bit too much at times, but the whole thing is very cool nonetheless...good job!

alow me to be the first to welcome you to this planet...

Seriously...no clue. I think he did copa cabana, right? I'm not sure I know of any other songs by him - probably heard some in an elevator somewhere though.

That is freekin' absolutely great!! That Johnny Rotten style vocal and the Sex Pistols treatment is just perfect-the sounds are all just awesome. I likes it so much more than the original....;)

Unfortunately it was a well known song from the 70's I think-it was slow and sappy as maple syrup!
Queepy, variaxman, Little Pedro--whichever did this song did it 100,000% better that old Barry ever could!

That was absolutely, incredibly awesome. Knocked me on my ass, man.

Reminds me of how well Flo & Eddie could rock things up - have you heard there version of No Business Like Show Business?
This is a terrific job Queepy. Has that Sid's My Way pump to it.
For an unfiddled mix it sits together very well indeed.
The comments re the lead git & bass are pretty accurate - though you could get away with not doing anything also.
No, how about Eric Carmen's All By Myself?

heatmiser - I agree about the bass...tried to fix it on my remix...also kicked up the lead guitar and took some delay off the lead vox...Thanks for checking it out!

Anfontan - Thats cool about the Pistols...I definitely try for that vibe with my limeted vocal abilities ;)....glad ya dug it!

RAMI - Thanks for the good word man, means a lot!

Chili - Cranking is good!! Thanks for checking it!

rayc - Yeah, That version of "My Way" is one of my all time favorite covers! I was actually starting a cover of "Seasons In The Sun", when I switched gears and tried this on....."All By My Self" would definitely be cool...also thought maybe "Alone Again Naturally" would be different...or maybe "Muskrat Love"...although that may be pushing it a bit :p
Thanks as always for listening and the feedback!

Here is a link to my new mix with the changes mentioned earlier...

Yeah, Alone Again - for a start it is a good song - I must be one of the very few out there with a Gilbert O'Sullivan retrospectrive CD from Rhino. You'd have to come up with a riff though as the chords seem to follow the melody prety closely.
You could do All By Myself like vanilla fudge did to One Velvet Morning.

Yeah man, the Fudge had a way with the pretty songs eh? :p...
That early 70's pop stuff is kinda like a guilty pleasure for me....I can't turn it off when i hear one of those songs..groovy

Cool cover, queepy.

I feel sorry for the poor piano on the beach. Ever think of doing Mandy?

This song made much more sense to me after remembering that it's Barry Manilow and not Barry White

Good cover

Me too. Dont remember this one. I remember Mandy and Copa, thats it. Nice tune though.

Haha, too cool. I love the key changes. If only Manilow had done it with a bit of edge as well, his original would have appealed on more than the shmatlz and arrangement-skill levels (to me, anyway).

The mix could have more clarity in the mids, but I couldn't tell you how to get that:D
