It's almost (it is?) Spring! -- February before last, I stepped off a plane from Texas to Helsinki -- wham!! a -22C mallet right in the face :) -- I bet it's getting nice now

Yeah... If it's any cosolation, put yourself in my shoes:

I've got money in it too... Plus over 100 hours of coding...and it's still not working, not my fault, but nevertheless, not working... and on top of that, all of the payment code has to be re-written to make it work again with the new payment methods that are coming up...

I'm a very determined person in everything that I do...but I also know that everyone else in the world isn't and I understand that...

Really, guys, I'd pee on an electric fence if I thought it would help the sitution we're in right now...

Randy, it was that I went to my bank to stop
this transaction as I saw the sum was "on hold"
but funily following happened when after 45 minutes I got to the bank the
money reserved for this was not "on hold" but
just dissappeared (16.4-08) in this sence that it´s not anywhere I could confirm it would be? Oh my english....

Once again -- really appreciate it. Hopefully most of wrapped up before you start your *new job* -- you're working in a development environment I have no experience with, or I'd offer to pitch in (and probably mess it up :) )
 
great news, here's hoping it comes through tomorrow...

not to keep harping on this, but did we ever get word as to whether or not the 583 comes with a shock mount?

LOL! If I thought it would speed PayPal up, I'd do it in a heartbeat... (secret: I have a strong tollerance to electricity!)

Yeah, I still "have the feeling" that I'll get that job... Interview yesterday. Today, they emailed a form for me to fill out and fax back, which I did, for concent to do a background check. Maybe I'm looking to far into this, but I'd think that if they weren't at least considering hiring me, they wouldn't be going that far, asking for a BG check... At any rate, it put a smile on my face when they asked...

You'd think right - it would be insane for several reasons to run a background check on someone if you didn't intend to hire.

WooHoo! Keeping my fingers crossed though... I really believe this is the job for me... The yearly pay is about 30% of what my yearly salary has been over the past 10 years or so... but the benefits are out the roof!... state/government job...

They did tell me in the interview yesterday though, that this IS an entry level position, and I could double the salary in a year... :)

We'll see...

Well, first, you won't shock yourself peeing on an electric fence. I'm nerdy enough that I watched that particular Mythbusters episode. The reality is that urine from the penis won't make a contiguous stream that will conduct electricity. You'd essentially have to place your penis on the fence to get any shock.

I haven't had a regular job in 11 years (knock on wood). But my fiance is a 'regular' person and I remember when she interviewed for her current job. When they asked for a background check she basically told me she had the job because nobody bothers with it unless they intend to hire you. They make the decision and only go back on it if the BG check turns something up. Nevertheless Randy, I will send some positive vibes your way.

Im also getting concerned about this....it has been what...3 days now??? There is no reason for them to be taking this long....

I can't believe people can say stuff like this with a straight face. Sounds like something out of Monty Python, or Peter Sellers.

By the way--am I wrong in thinking that she basically says nothing of consequence in this email? The sign of a good Executive Escalator!
