Philgood,
I really don't give flying fuck what you think I do or do not understand. Was that clear enough for you?

No, I think your demonstration of your complete ignorance and apathy to the truth is adequately clear enough!

Feel free to keep posting your stupidity and I will stand back while others strip you and leave you standing there looking like the naked idiot that you are.

Or...you could just choke on my knob!

I'm fine with either one, dipshit!
(Hey, I remembered to call you that without editing!:))

and you could probably get some feminine wipes to get that sand out of your vagina.

About as intelligent as anything else you've ever posted. At least you're not repeating something that has already been dis-proven about 25 times in a 300-page thread. Congratulations.

Well neither are overheads, vacations and whiskey ....... but it's sure nice to have them. :D It's a fairly common practice to use two mics on a kick, not always, but common. If you can achieve the sound you want - every time - with one mic, more power to you.

Um, overheads are necessary if you want a nice stereo image. The kick is a mono instrument. You can use 2 mics - hell you can use ten if you want - but one is all you need. It's not hard or tricky to get whatever sound you want from a kick with one mic.

I used a SM57 as the kick-beater on my newest surf tune. Go check it out in the MP3 clinic.

Rami, where the hell have you been anyway? Have you been busy tripling your floor-tom?

Hey man, I been around, but haven't been playing or listening to any music. Sometimes I find I need to just drop out of it a bit. It's not even a conscious decision. I just find myself not playing or listening to anything and not missing it. I always start Jonesing after a couple of weeks though.

How you doing?

Good. Same ol same ol. I know what you mean. Except I went years without playing anything, so I'm trying to catch up. :o

I Love to Double mic the kick I use my EV N/D 868 Kick mic in side usually a bit off center and about 4 to 8 inches from the beater head then I put my AKG D112 just an inch our two out side of the kick I also take the outer head off and sometimes you need to tape the little lugs so they dont rattle, but taking the head off gives a much larger sound to work with then this may seem wierd to most but I take a packing blanket and put it over the kick and what this does is Isolate the kick from cymbles etc. because I dont want other sounds mixing in with it, Then depending on what I am looking for and a lot of time it is that Pantera style click but with a warm low punch, I add quite a bit of high eq around 2k to the inside mic to get the click and rely on the outer mic for the punch, there have been times that for what ever reason I do the reverse and add the high end to the outter kick but many people have given Me good Praise on my kick drum sounds and I make decent money recording bands, so good luck with how ever you deside to do it.
