It all sounds quite good, I love the brazilian vibe that you have going there. Is that an acousticelectric on the rhythm?

Thanks! It's all acoustic--not electric/acoustic. Just mic'd with a rode nt-5.

Hey where are you in Southern Illinois?

Prospective Son-in-law.;)

Nice playing. Nice and mellow, its all grooving together nicely.

DavidK--I've been a fan of your music and your input since I've been reading this board (a good year before I started posting!). So thanks a lot.

You're right! I knew that sounded funny. So what shall I call him for the next three months?

That's one hell of a straight line, WhiteStrat.

As far as the song goes, the playing is great and the guitar capture is crisp and natural, but the drums could be softer and less busy IMO. I know it's not a song yet but it has tons of potential. I would recommend a stop and a few tasteful cymbal rolls while the guitar slows down the phrases and milks the vibrato for a bit, then a tom roll and the pace to pick up again. Maybe the slow aside could be in the relative minor of the tonic. Just my opinion and I know little.

You guys are both outstanding players.

That. Was. Excellent.

Great work.

I can't comment on mixes because I'm listening on a speakers built into my monitor and I also know squat about mixing/etc.

But the playing is really nice, great guitar work! :D

Very nice tune and very well played. This kid could be a real asset to the fam.
The guitar is very well recorded and has a quality that can't be gotten w/ a piezo. Tell us more about the guitar please...

Cool. I'm from St. Louis--actually live in Waterloo, IL now, but still work in St. Louis. I've got family in Carterville, and my dad's side of the family is all from Benton--so I've spent a lot of time down there. (In fact I can't wait to do some more camping down at Crab Orchard or Rend Lake.)

And my son's football team (Waterloo H.S. Bulldogs) plays Carbondale every year. He's going to be a senior, so next time will be the last time...
