Yeah, my rack is the perfect example as someone with a small budget, so it basically sucks haha.

sweet rack Kevin, is that G9 a valve pre? it seems like i've seen that somewhere before....
Hey Julian- if you're considering DIY, you should check out seventh circle audio. the beige rack in my pic is from them, and they sound fantastic.
they all come as kits so you don't have to worry about sourcing parts or any of that stuff.

Yes, hahaha, excpet its marker. No one shall know who makes it nowNice! I see you used the tape trick on your power strip as well!![]()
Are you recording digital or analog? I don't see any converters.
Also, are those cigars on your rack? What you smokin there?![]()
Pretty uneventful here, but it's taken me quite a bit to gather this gear over the years. More impressive than the rack (if it could even be considered impressive) are the deals I've gotten on this equipment. I got the whole rack, with the Behringer headphone amp, Peavy and MXL 2 channel EQs and the Peavy 5 channel Noise Gate ALL for $150 on craigslist. Got the firepod for $350, and then just recently added that Furman and ART for $75. And then the casters were like 5 bucks. Oh, and I built that snake out of a TRS snake (Hosa of course) and some XLR connectors and a project box from radio shack. Only cost me about 55 bucks.

There is a bunch of stuff missing at the moment . . . the hole in the middle is filled with a Presonus M80 and a Tascam CDA500. The little hole below the power amp gets filled with a DIY 12V organ PSUWell, kinda DIY, I just bought a 12V switching PSU and dropped it in a 1u rack case, and added fuse, switch, and connectors . . .
The latest acquisition is right underneath the rack . . . an '80s vintage Sony turntable!![]()
God, I hate the image attachment goofiness...
Best I can do is throw in some links (and pray)...

You bet. www.myspace.com/3831studios. The first song on there is a friend of mine's band that came up to record. I actually had to borrow his dad's firepod, since I recorded it all live and I needed more than 8 channels, so I ran them together. Other than that, I used mostly all my equipment. The second track was actually recorded with a Boss BR-1180 and I produced and mixed it.pretty sick man... do you have a myspace of songs u recorded with that? I just got my firepod for 220$

I was using an Alesis 16 channel firewire board, but i got rid of it, i couldnt get it working properly. Now Im using my old 8 channel usb alesis. I was going to get a Motu 8pre, but I got monitors instead. Now Im saving my money for a vacation next month, so I probably wont have a new interface until AprilOh yes, those are real Cubans, but they went to waste because I didnt smoke them right away.

I think it's just some tacky name, "American DJ" or something like that.Ok, I'm confused...
Why is everyone taping over the manufacturer's name on those power strips? What's the deal?
