Mixing and Mastering.
I'm looking into getting a midi foot pedal for an amp (and FXsor an all in 1) and was wondering what to get and if it will work with an Engl amp head?
Im probably looking the mid price range although any suggestions on top end gear is very welcome also. :)

Thanks,
Eck

The Behringer FCB-1010 is an excellent pedal.
Well built and can be programmed to send ANY midi command.
(the programming is a bit of a pain, but there are tools online to help.)

Check out the FCB-1010 group on Yahoo Groups.... lots of info, people and stuff there.

I have used one for a couple of years to control a vl70-m windsynth for patch changes with ZERO problems.

Thanks for the info.
I tend to stay away from Beringer but I suppose if its just for MIDI then it shouldn't mess with the sound quality should it?

What kind of FXs units could I use with the breingher?
Sorry for my ignorance I don't know much about FX units for guitars.

Cheers,
Eck

I was thinking of going with this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Tech-21-MIDI-Moose-Footcontroller?sku=151076

The Tech-21 Midi Moose. Its new and looks like it will do just about anything and is pretty tough looking. I have no personal experience with this pedal, it just looks good to me is all. I just discovered its existance recentely.

I don't have any personal experiences with the behringer but i've heard countless number of good reviews about it. It will do almost anything you want it to do and you can program any amp and effects unit that has midi capabilities.

If you want high end, i own and swear by the GCX(voodoo lab) Ground control pro. this thing is built like a tank, and can operate anything that is midi capatible. It's also good because if you wan't to switch stomp boxes in and out of your signal chain you can do this by buying the GCX Audio Switcher. I have one and it works great. You can control up to four of these units at a time. The problem is these units are super expensive compared to simple midi foot controllers. But if your serious and you do gig's there worth it.

The tech-21 midi moose also looks good but again i don't have any personal experience with it. It looks like its built tougher than the behringer though.

Thanks alot guys.
Ive been looking at the GCX(voodoo lab) Ground control pro
Seems like a good pedal.

I was wondering, if I got a FX unit like this: http://www.tcelectronic.com/G-Force.asp

Could I set 1 channel of the GCX to be a certain amp channel and a certain delay effect, and set other channels up like this? What I'm needing is a way to switch amp channels and delay times with 1 stomp of a button.

Thanks,
Eck

The MIDI moose 21 looks good. Seems simple to use. 127 patches is plenty!!
It doesnt say on the website if you can control amps and midi FXs settings into 1 patch or not.

The Berringher 10/10 seems good also.
Crazy how its got 2 foot pedals!
How big is it compared to say the Boss GT6?

What I'm needing is a way to switch amp channels and delay times with 1 stomp of a button.

I do this with the Behringer FCB1010 switch and a TC Electronic G-Major. The G-Major has two relays that can be used to switch channels on non-MIDI amps. The 1010 is very programmable, and one button can be used to send up to 5 program changes and 2 control changes.

This allows me to go from any sound to any other sound with one stomp. (Certain buttons are set up to tap-tempo so I can stomp them twice to set the tempo of a delay or tremolo).

I also have a WOBO MIDI Looper (look 'em up on eBay) that allows me to put an overdrive pedal in a MIDI-controlled true bypass loop for another sound. This is like the GCX that GuitarMagic was talking about.

I did not go the GroundControl/GCX route because a pro I know said they make a tiny pop when you change patches. I haven't tried it myself.

Thanks a lot.
Sounds like this is just what I'm looking for.
