Hi guys, this is a new one I just finished.

My first attempt at playing slide as a main riff in a tune. Never realized how hard it would be. You can't sort of be on the fret, you have to be right on. I'd like to know if there's any major tuning issues with my playing on this.

I'll probably re-so the vocals, especially the first verse.

Any other comments and suggesting are always appreciated, too. Thanx.

Cool tune.......I heard a couple of small glitches(slide position)but, that is a hard thing to do even if you are a seasoned vetran. My only real nit would be that the slide work could be smoother but, I don't know chit so take that with a grain of salt....anyway, great stuff as always and looking forward to the final mix.:D

Love the guitar on the left in the beginning. Kind of buries the vocals at the start of the song though.

Timing sounds perfect. Slide is so damn hard to play, I never got the hang of it. Sounds like you did good, I don't notice any out of tune notes.

I also like how the song slows down later on, sounds really good.

You continue to impress with your musical skills Rami. You have never played slide on you previous tunes, so did you just learn it? When I play slide it sounds like cats wailing lol....

This is another great song. Besides the cool slide work, the arrangement is cool, mix of fast and slow parts. Good vocals and instrumentaion all around!

:D:):D:)

Thatx alot, guys. I had a slide lying around for years, but never played it. A few weeks ago, I had this tune in my head and knew it had to be a slide playing those parts, so I started practicing it. I pretty much practiced it as I recorded. If I waited another week (or a few years...:) ), it would probably be better.

The slow middle part is from another tune I had that sucked, but I wanted to keep that part.:D

Danny, you find the guitar drowns out the vocals in the intro??? I'll have to re-listen and fix it.

Thanx alot for the comments. :)

Sounds pretty good, some of the intonation it a bit off but slide is a tough thing to attempt for anyone. To me it is a lot more using my ears to hear the note being in tune than the frets. And the fact that most of the slide work is quite naked-with little or no backing instruments-that alone is quite impressive to me!

And although I'm repeating myself from another song you posted recently-the backing vocals remind me so much of the group King's X...

The inscrotumble rhythm section returns.
I like the slide a lot - there was one moment that seemed to have a hesitation in it but it wasn't obvious.
There are some parts of this that remind me of the 1st 2 Kiss albums - the pin point dynamics n pauses.
Your harmonies are becoming as much a trade mark as your rhythm section.
What did you use to finalize/mmaster this?

That shit sounds real good.

Since you asked about the slide playing (I think I've recorded one slide lead in my life; I play it some live because I can sort of get away with it, but I suck), the timing almost seems...too good. May sound like a ridiculous comment, but for some reason, it sounds less than natural...

Everything else kills.

Thanx zlot, Anfontan. I went and listened to more King's X and I really dig those guys. I'm surprised I never heard of them until you mentioned it. Thanx for turning me on to a good band.

Thanx alot, Ray. I think the first break is the worst. I didn't want something that was like the other main riff, so I improvised as best I could, but it drags a bit, feeling-wise.

Thanx Chris. I can guarantee on my father's grave that nothing "unnatural" was done. :)

I will admit that every slide part you hear is at least take 200, so I didn't keep anything until it sounded right to me, and being a drummer, timing wasn't really my worry as much as intonation and sounding less than embarrassing on an instrument I possible have no right putting on "tape" just yet. :D But, it might sound a little less natural because I was too concerned with playing the part right and thinking less about playing with any feel. I'm sure after a while I'll want to re-record the slides when I'm a little more comfortable with it.

Dude, that was awesome. No nits from me man. I LOVE the kick/bass relationship you got going on. So clean and precise. Very impressive. drums sound fantastic as usual. I like the minimalistic (is that a word?) arrangement. There doesn't seem to be too much going on, and it fits the song perfectly. Nice "darkness" to it and a nice departure from your more upbeat "poppy" stuff. Great job bro. :)

Thanx dude. Yeah, I recorded this as a 3-piece band. One guitar playing at a time (except for the slow middle part), bass drums. Thanx alot for the listen, bro.

Yeah I especially noticed the bass by itself during the solo. Loved it. I'm gonna try that on one of mine if it fits.

Nice guitar tone...and the slide is cool....good sound, and I think it's played pretty well...fits the tune good.

Killer drums...fuck you....:p

Overall sound is great to me...I got nothing. Drums are great, and the bass has a good pocket and nice punch.

Good production overall....nice sounds.

Thanx alot, Dog. Fuck you, too. :p

well, i have to say that's the best tune i've heard today.

puts my stuff to shame, bugger!

well done, keep it coming!

Ok... nobody kill me for this... but at times, this really reminds me of some of Zeppelin's stuff. As always, good job Rami.

How do you record your bass lines. I always like the punch and clarity you get on them. DI???

Thanx alot, oaf...Not that I have any intention (or ability) of putting anyone to shame, but your comments made my day.

Cool, I'll take that as a compliment. I always liked "In My Time of Dying" and other tunes where Page plays slide instead of his usual messy soloing. :D Thanx alot for the listen, Sleeper.

I have an Ibanez bass that goes straight into my TASCAM 2488. I compress and EQ after tracking. I've said it before, I'm surprised that I get comments on my bass so sound so often. I think I just bought a good sounding bass by accident. And when I track, I try to pick HARD.:)

This sounds soooo good. I wish I could get my stuff to sound like that. The bass is really nice, it sounds so fat. The rest sounds really good to me as well. Your songs are always really good.
