Hello
I am absolutely sure that I am asking this question to people who are recording at way more complicated standards that I am looking to do, but I hope someone can steer me into a good direction.
I am a singer and very basic guitarist. I would like to be able to record myself singing and then dub over (?) it with layers of harmony to create an acapella piece with just myself singing. I may want to have a guitar layer or two also.
I did something like this using software called Acid (I think...), but it was not very user friendly for rookies like me, and I couldn't seem to record more than 10 seconds of material at a time. Somehow I did manage to record about a 1 minute song that I walked down the aisle to... but it was like pulling teeth!
Is there any software out there that anyone would suggest for me? I'm not looking to make professional recordings to sell... just playing around, writing harmonies, maybe making a Christmas CD for family...
Also, is there any kind of voice recorder (handheld, like a mini recorder) that you can dub over yourself on... I like to write songs while driving... but I forget them before I ever get the chance to record them!
Thank you for any help you are willing to offer. Forgive my incredible inadequacy to make a post on this website!
