Well here's the thing about my site: with the template, I can understand how to make changes, which sometimes I like to do frequently and quickly.
Every time I've looked at a tool to make my own less-ugly site, it's too hard for me to learn. I am actually rather stupid. I don't use a real CAD program to do my schematics; I don't use SPICE, I just do the layouts and PCBs using expressPCB's free software, and then I just build the thing to see if it works.
Similarly, complicated web tools are too much for me. The old ugly site made me money, and the new site is less ugly (and I have a new revision pending with even slightly less uglier colors).
In fact the only thing that bothers me now is the new site doesn't use any frames, which I suppose is generally a good thing, except that it means when you scroll down, you can't see the menu anymore. That is a mild annoyance, but if there is a simple fix that doesn't torpedo my use of the template, I'm interested.
I do miss the sand dollar buttons I use to have. I loved those sand dollars
