    Lonely Solider

Wow, great comments! I TOTALLY agree about the vocals, in fact, I had planned on going ahead and remixing it with the vox hotter, they get buried very easily. Unfortionately, we recorded them in a bathroom(tisk tisk), so much of the "effect" you hear is simply bathroom junk added on. Other...

    Another'n off the demo....

Yeah, that "tube" sound(unfortionately, not the GOOD tube sound) was complements of the bathroom I recorded the vocals in...lol, another lesson learned. Thanks for the comments! ***Justin***

    Just a rock song

Let me know whatcha'll think, not only of the recording, but of the song itself: www.mtsu.edu/~jwd2a/Lonely.mp3 We're doing vox overdubs next week, so that's why they sound low. The vox here are a scratch track. Also, this is a rouch mix, no effects, no eq, just raw tracks...just so ya...

    Radio...maybe? Maybe not?

Hey guys, Ok, my band just recorded a demo, and this is one cut off the record. I've been debating sending it to some college stations for airplay, and thought i'd get some expert opinions here. Thanks for any advice. Our name is TRB, if you live in the Nashville area, look out for us...

    Bono's vocals

I agree with porter. Copy the tracks and pan them out. Also, if you do use a short delay UNDER 20 ms, it'll help. Because of how we percieve sound, we can't detect a delay of under 20 ms, so anything under that won't sound like a delay, but like a real fattening of the sound. Try both, it...

overloading an audio input for too long, does it damage it?

I don't think you should have a problem. I've got the Digi001 as well, and when you overload an input like that, it's simply causing the waveform to be chopped off on the peaks, thus causing the distortion you hear. It sounds like hell, but you shouldn't have a problem with damaging the input...

Getting the Bass to sit well

Another thing to try, is to be certain that the bass and kick are working together very tightly. Once they are working as a solid rhythm unit, they'll both sit alot better in the mix, and give it alot more foundation. Just my 2 cents. ***Justin***

    +4 or -10?

With that signal chain, you should be running +4 the whole way, because everything is balanced. Generally speaking, +4 is with balanced things, -10 is with unbalanced. Remember, once you introduce one piece of unbalanced gear into the chain, the whole chain becomes unbalanced. Also, some...

    just because I can

Hey guys, I've never posted anything in the songwriting portion of the real estate here, so I thought i'd throw up some lyrics I wrote today. Just getting opinions...thanks guys! So you say, it all came as a surprise, and I can watch as the tears fill your eyes. But your ways of dealing with...
