I have a tascam TRS-8 tape machine and it has a problem. I can get sound into and the meter indicators light up. It plays audio back but wont record/erase. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? I plan on running my TEAC Tascam 5A into it, but for now I'm stuck with my digital options.

I have a Tascam 5a board and I'm not %100 sure on what connectors I need and how I should route them into a Motu 2408 mk3. I want to use the board as a preamp since the MOTU only has line level inputs. Any help and diagrams would be super. Thanks.
