What volume do you guy's mix at? I've been in the habit of "putting it up" on my monitors so I can hear all those little details...however, I'm starting to realize that the louder the mix, the more the room gets factored into the equation, and the more your power amp noise on your monitors get...

I'm interested in you all's input: You know when your listening to a track where the midrange is just spot on? The track seems louder, and it has more emotion. What are some techniques you all use when dealing with the midrange? What are your philosophies when you are mixing that midrange...

I agree that the cymbals could be emphasized to give this piece a little more shimmer. The guitars are really static...possibly adjust the compressor attack and release times to give the guitar some motion. Maybe a slight sidechain on the guitars from the kick will make this piece breath in...

I disagree...this a really well played emotional piece. Sounds GREAT.....great dynamics, I keep getting lost in the piece, and it makes me think. I agree with chrisjorge in some light strings and an appropriate ending could make this sound great. Another thought: The guitar seems a little dry...

Mix sounds good man...it's light and airy, really easy to listen to. Only possible area for improvement is to bring out the vocals a little more (a smidge) and possibly emphasize the bongos or percussion a little more, put it in its own space. other than that, great job man!
