Whats the differance? I was told that if you are going to run 1gig or more ram in your pc that it should be registerd/buffered type. And im assuming you cant mix, unless your motherboard excepts this.
I am trying to format my audio drive (my 2nd internal hard drive used for audio only) When I go into the computer management and right click on the drive, the format option is grayed out(un selectable)
I have never reformated a drive before, so i dont know what to do now. I am running XP home...
I just started a rap session last week. I Have completed the vocals for one of the tracks. And have been working on the mixing (compressing, verb, expanding etc)
Can any body offer me any tips on mixing rap stuff. (I usally do metal stuff.)
Its seems that one of the channels on my Focusrite twintrack preamp, is totally shit right now. Without(also with) a mic even plugged in, if i turn up the gain I get static noise. I never turn the preamp gain that loud anyways but I know that I am not getting the cleanest signal from this thing...
Due to lack of space (living room / control room) my monitors(event ps-8s) are about 6 inchs away from the wall. Does this increase the overall low end?
I wish i could pull them away from the wall, but i just dont have the space. I was thinking of getting some auralex to put on the wall behind...
Anybody use this combo? Im having problems setting my kick trigger for use with a dbl kick pedal. In the style of fast and constant dbl bass playing. Fopr example when i play fast triplets(like a galop) all my hits are not getting triggered. Any suggestions?
Can MP3's be created from 48khz / 24 bit wav files.???? I have allways converted my 16bit/44.1(dithered from48khz) wav mix's to mp3. Im just wondering if you can, the 48khz must sound a little better.

I need a longer cable for my right monitor. Im currently have a 6 ft balanced studiolink 500 monster cable. i need like a 9ft, so i can get to the back of the rack. I read somewhere that balanced cable runs should be kept short. Yeah...no?
I just got a western digital ex. hard drive, and noticed that it dosent have a on/ off switch. My PC stays on all the time so in turn the external will also since its on the same surge protector.
Is it bad to leave ex. HD's on for weeks on end??
I dont whant to prematurlly burn it out(if possible)
I was flipping thue the GC monthly flyer, and saw one for $70 and another for $250. Is there any pro's the wheel type have over a tripod?
Do the wheels act like a shockmount for the boom from the floor?

i just bought on of these last night (dbl kick model). this pedal kicks ass, super smooth, top of the dw line. This is a sweet pedal, you would swear your playing two bass drums and not a dbl pedal. Ive been struggling with a tama iron cobra for the past 10 months, this dw brings new life to my...
My kick drums never seem to cut thru the mix, but when i burn off a cdr i can hear them a little more upfront. Im thinking this must be a problem with the room? The room is about 13x13, my monitors are on top of milk crates 4 inchs from the wall, carpet floor, couch, entertanment center,open...
I cant seem to find anyone who sells the shock mount for a audio technica AT3035 mic. It seems they dont sell this mount by its self.
Any body got a at3035 and know what other (mxl, akg etc.) shockmounts it will fit into safely?
thanks.
