Thanks.. I used the classic 50 miced with an i5 for the guitars. And because parkway drive is tuned to drop B, the marshall didn't sound any better... (Too much gain maybe?) Maybe I can clean it up.. The snare.. it's all EZDrummer. I'll see what I can do with it... I'll post back when I get a...

yeah I think it is a placement issue.. I tried some things and got a lot better sound out of them by raising the OH's up a bit... it gets a little more room sound but that's okay because my room doesn't sound terrible.. Thanks guys :-D

so I always used to think it was because my cymbals are somewhat cheap that it sounded like this, but I figured recently that because the cymbal is swinging, it does not sound constant.. I used to only notice it recorded but I noticed it practicing one day and that's how I figured it out...

If anyone is farmliar with the Flint, MI area.. there is a bar called the Machine Shop.. WOW what a kick ass live sound! seriously.. the drums were amazing! I know they had all the proper gate/compressor setup but the thing that really stood out on sound was the kick drums.. each kick looked...

my dad cleaned the studio, and took out the big rug that was covering the hardwood floor (but it's old half-rot hardwood.. no finish) and WOW it made such a difference in the way my kit sounded! The kick sounded more full, also louder.. really cut through the rest of the drums... and the toms...

Ah that's cool.. I remember when I first started playing my dad's vista lites were like that.. They sound cool.. I have never tried recording like that though..

Dude I KNOW your kit sounds good.. what kind of resonant heads are you using and what kind of kit/shell construction is it?

well it probably is the heads then.. I'm gonna start fresh and get all new ones.. soon as I get my next paycheck and my tax return back... so probably this weekend.. if it all works out :)
