It is only for recording. My drumroom is 16 x 13 x 7 and it is acoustically treated.
I am trying to get the best sound that I can without having to rely too much on electronics. I like to go mic to preamp to disk.
By the way. I tried an evans hydrolic batter with a evans resonant on my...
"A good question was asked above. Is the too much attack problem only when you're recording or is it all of the time? "
I believe I answered this one already but yes I can hear the attack all of the time. My mics are picking up exactly what I am hearing.
"What kind of sticks are you using?"
I...
"Is this only when mic'ed, or all the time?
That is the way it sounds in the drumroom so the mics pick up that sound......specially the overheads. They pick up the bright stick attack and not much of the tone of the toms. Close mics pick up more tone therefore the attack it is less audible...
Yes... I have a Pearl session custom drumset and I don't know why I get too much attack of the shells. I want to minimize the sound of the stick hitting the head and hear more of the tone of the drum. I actually like the way my toms sound when I use earplugs. Is there a special head I can use...
Hi,
I need to get a 4 channel pre. Can some one recommend me one. In quality I am looking for a preamp better than the mackie 24x8 preamps. This preamps will be used for things such as overheads and toms.
Let me know.
Luis.
Hi all,
Can someone recommend a good vocal mic in the $1000 to $1500 range. I will be using either an avalon V737 pre or and earthworks pre amp.
Let me know.
Regards,
Luis.
Cool....
Should I put the 1/2" plywood panels on the corners since they absorbe lower frequencies or it doesn't matter?
1/8" and 1/4" more in the center of the wall?
check out this pick.
Luis.
Re: Re: Bass Trap Design??
Hi Ethan,
How low would a 2x2 3.5" deep panel with 2" 703 absorve if I use 1/8", 1/4", and 1/2" plywood for the front?
Would these pannels absorve at just one frequency or do they have a broad range?
Does the frequency of absortion change if I use different...
Thanks Kevin,
I can't wait to put down my drill/hammer and start doing some mixing....I am planning to get it all done in another 2 months....will see how it goes.
How is your place looking?
Luis.
The bottom of my window is 3' 5". I originally wanted it at 4' but due to ceiling height limitations I lowered a bit. From my mixing position I can see short or tall vocalist no problem. I would have loved to have a bigger window but I didn't want to spend to much $$ dough on glass. Also...
Don't be nervous...I did my ceiling this weekend and the RC holds just fine. I placed the RC on 12" centers and attached 5/8" drywall 1/2"celotex and 5/8" drywall
Cheers.
Luis.
