Need hekp guys im a totall noob!! heres my equipment.....

You should be able to get a great sound, but you can't really expect "studio quality", otherwise studios wouldn't exist. What kit do you have? What's the room like? Best thing to do is work on one drum at a time tuning it to sound great, then recording and seeing how it sounds with the rest of...

    Alesis 3630

How good is this unit as a compressor, and how good is it as a gate? I would be using it on drums. I've done a bit of research and it seems some people think it has a very bad reputation as both. I notice as a gate though, it only has threshold and rate controls. I assumed the rate was pretty...

    Reverb/Multi: S100 vs Midiverb vs MX200 vs M350

Bump. Particularly looking for info/reviews of the Alesis Midiverb4. Any help would be appreciated. I'm fairly certain I'll get the Lexicon MX200, but it would be nice to get the Alesis too if it's gonna be decent.

    Behringer

I was told buy a guy in a shop, yes steer clear of behringer as a rule, but of course, they are cheap, and they're fine for anything than doesn't really have parts to go wrong. Now I was thinking of getting their quad gate, which is about a 5th of the price of anything else, and assumed there's...

    hooking up an fx processor

Yeah, look on the mixer to see which of the TRS connections is send and which is return. If there's no way of telling on the cable, you'll have to use something like a ohmeter to check which goes to which end. Might be more trouble than it's worth. Shouldn't do any damage trying each way...

    Reverb/Multi: S100 vs Midiverb vs MX200 vs M350

Looking at rack mount reverb/delay units, and these are all $199 except the digitech which is $179. At first I was keener on DigiTech and Alesis, but the Lexicon and TC seem to be more usable. I wanna be able to quickly select stuff whenever I use it live, and the lexicon in particular looks...

    MXL 990&991, FirePod vs. 8pre

Hey, I'm thinking of getting a bunch of gear from the US, and noticed musiciansfriend has package deals on the firepod with these mics. Here are the two links: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/PreSonus-Firepod-Studio-Package?sku=247107...

    tuning fork...........

HAHA. That's great. So the fork for the sun will have a frequency of zero or infinity? - bases on the time it takes to revolve around itself. Also amazing how the frequencies happen to correspond to exact notes (C,D,A,G,G# etc.) and that these notes don't have defined frequencies, but are...

    SPD-S type software/hardware solution?

Now looking into the Roland trigger to midi converter. http://www.rolandcorp.com.au/default.aspx?prd=376 Anyone got any comments on this? Still looking for the program to trigger from though? I'd need a MIDI-USB cable, but that should work right?

    SPD-S type software/hardware solution?

Sorry, didn't know where to post, since there's not GENERAL software forum. It's not really even the right website, since this isn't for recording, but I know there are many knowledgable people here, so I'll give it a shot! I'm looking for a program which can save performance files, and in a...

    Micin' a snare

Do you mean is DOESN'T capture the sound of the wires when you only use one mic? If it does, then what do you need to change?

    Micin' a snare

Sorry, was what a condenser? When I used to do it, I had a dynamic underneath. It was a Beta57. The only problem really was that I was using mic clips for almost every close mic, not having enough stands. That limited the positioning possibilities for me, and since I was using a stand for the...
