my 388 has been working wonderfully...but all of a sudden i got a problem tracking into tracks 1 and 5. When record enabled (and while recording) the signal shows very hot...yet when i listen back it is barely there and doesnt even move the needle. is there anything i can do?

hey. I have a Tascam 388 and have been bouncing/mixing down to an old cassette machine. I have saved up some $ and feel like its time to get a decent 2-track for mixdowns. anyone have any modestly priced machines they would reccommend? I assume going to 1/4" is the way to go.

anybody know where I can order a quality 1/4" new metal take-up reel? Im using a plastic one that is all cracked and warped... any info would help. thanks
