This may be a dumb question but here goes. My brother and I want to collaborate across the country on recordings. He has a Korg D1600MKII and Im thinking of getting a Zoom MRS 8. If I send .wav files from the zoom will the Korg machine read them. They both use the .wav format. Im just trying to be absolutly sure because working together is the whole point. If I need a Korg machine thats fine, I like the drumming options of the Zoom and would like one if it would work. Thanks in advance.

You should have no problems swapping Wav files between those two recorders, they will both handle the regular bit rates for Wav's. The only time you'll have an issue is if you save files on a pc which are at rates which the spec of one machine other won't handle.

You may also run into issues with the uncompressed WAV. files simply being too big to email. Don't be surprised if you wind up having to mail a bunch of data discs.

If sharing large files, upload to soundcloud and keep it private with download facility enabled, send the link to your co musician so they can download, job's a good un.
