Hey, I seem to not be as active here as I used to....regardless, I have recently purchased a Zoom h4n because I really wanted a mobile recorder, and it had pretty damn nice features plus sound quality. However, what really sold me on it was the ability to use it as an audio interface. Since I finally moved out of my parents' place, my studio is still there, so I don't have everyday access to record. Having a basic interface here will be a godsend.

Now.....I can't get it to work as an interface. It works fine as a standalone recorder. I've updated the firmware, installed the ASIO drivers, and it recognizes it when I plug it in and have it sync up with the computer. Its just not registering any audio coming from it. The meters on the unit detect the sound just fine, but nothing on the computer. I've used REAPER and Audacity and neither one work. I'm tempted to install Cubase 5 LE that it came with and see if I can get it to work with that.

And on top of that, it doesn't even really record. In REAPER, I hit record, and the button remains pressed, but the timeline doesn't even move, it just stays in place. Its really bizarre.

Bummer about the interface option not working. I've been recording my tracks on my H4N and then putting the SD card into my computer and importing the .wav files into Cubase SE. It works fine that way, but I guess the interface option might be easier. Has your situation changed (still having the same problem) since you originally posted.

Oh wow a response, after 3-4 days I gave up on expecting one ;)

No, but I haven't really played with it that much either. I'm going to be using it when I'll be having auditions for my musical, but mostly I've been scoring stuff on the computer, not much recording (or playing for that matter).
