Ya those guitars sound pretty damn good. This is a great song and recording. Man I love the sound of the verses. Simple, clear, full, dynamic, Love the guitars, etc around 3:00- it's a very very nice transition. I'm downloading this. Thanks.

You do this thing with lyrics - if you said them without music, or muttered them under your breath, they'd sound like thoughts you were voicing to yourself. But you have this knack of putting them to music, and they get more significant. Really good. I've put that idea in my mind, and I hope it comes up for me some day.

It's the music that's the real strong point here. You just keep getting more and more interesting. I subscribe to tubedude's 'tweak' theory of homerecording. You're really good at it.

Strong vocals, especially that layering.

Great sound.

I listen to the voice and that crunchy guitar at around 2.20: there's nothing wrong with it at all, but they're in different sonic spaces - the guitars are right out in front, and the singer's in a more spacious room. Did you want it that way?

That guitar outro is elegant and muscular all at the same time. There's no other word for it.

The drummer stumbles at 5.06/5.07, but I love him anyway.

Odd idea: you could have a recitation against that outro guitar. It would work if it was done right.

Exciting song, Emeric.

I've been listening to your tunes from day one on this board, and I have to say i'm glad you have come more out front with the vox. What's up with the ending? Sounds like how i end shit...

Great tune though emeric, and some of the so called pro's on this board could take a lesson or two from you...David

>has anybody ever said that the vocals sound like Paul Mcartney?

On this one your vocals are half-way between John and Paul.

Shit- you pull off both! With Emmett Rhodes thrown in to Boot!

Nice raspy accents on both the vocals and the rhythm guits.

And it continues to amaze me how you tweak that POD to get it sounding that phat.

Hey, I was just listening to this again when I was cleaning out my MP3 clinic folder... I'm gonna hang on to this one. What settings did you use on the POD? Damn.. I might have to get one now... this tune could be the lost track from Rubber Sou or Revolver. Did you ever re-mix?

SLuiCe: Thank you!

dobro: It should be faded by the time of the drum stumble. Overall the timing isn't all that consistent from start to end, but it sorta flows. What do you mean 'recitation'. Thanks for the feedback as always.

David! Where ya been man? Get your studio done? The ending will be solidified at some point, somehow. The change of guitar pattern will be retracked. Thanks.

drstawl: I don't know why that is. Emmet Rhodes I havn't heard much of, should check it out someday. The Beatles influence me heavy I guess, but I don't think my vocals 'sound' like them tonally, wish they did. (to a point :) ) Not into Beatlemania or anything.

JR#97: As for pod settings, I just tweak them to whatever fits the song. I couldn't tell you what settings I used. I do however tweak based off of a bunch of patches I downloaded ages ago. If you do get a pod I'll be happy to email them to you. It seems this song has a lot of Beatles sound to it based on the comments. Nothing wrong with that I suppose as long it doesn't sound like I ripped something off. I thought it sounded somewhat original... sniffle :( ..

:)

Oh yeah, no I haven't gotten around to remixing it. Few other tracks that have to be added before I do that. I've moved on to another, will get back to this one sometime.

Thanks for listening to it JR#97.

I listened to this a while ago, but forgot to post.

It's excellent. Good singing, inventive harmonies.

My two main criticisms have already been made by others - the "two note solo" needs work, and the outro needs more happening in it.

But just details. I really liked this. Good stuff.

Cheers
