Oh... I forgot the sarcastic smiley after "wonderful song"

So there that is. :D

Hey Cellar,

Very dark and foreboding!

The vocals need to be bought up ever so slightly in the mix. I had trouble deciphering them. However the vocals are excellent, very fitting!

The fairy dust is a little too present in the mix for my liking!
The lead guitar or the guitar playing the melody in the intro needs to be jacked up in the mix!

The drums, in particular the snare I think could benefit from a slight boost in the mids just to give it more life!

That is just my constructive criticism Cellar, aimed to be just that!

Overall though I found it to be very well put together, I could see this as being an intro or an entree for something heavier to burst into life!

Great stuff Cellar, just a few volume adjustments in the mix I think. This tune would give me the creeps and those vocals would freak me out if I was on acid at home alone!!!

Thanx for sharing Cellar :)

Thanks for listening and commenting Gorty, and thanks very much for the constructive critcism.

It never fails to amaze me how much my monitors seem to boost the vox, as compared to EVERY other set of speakers!

Argh, the "drums". They defininitely need something. I'll try pumping some more mids in them. I can't figure out any way to track bass/snare separately from my drum machine, so it's very limiting. Maybe more mids will make them less annoying  :D

It gave you the creeps... Cool  :D
Thanks again.

*edit*~ By the way, what did you mean by "fairy dust"?

hehe, I think he meant the chimes in the beginning. They were a tad loud in the mix, but then again I am just listehning on my computer speakers.

I do agree that the vocals need to come up a bit and that the singing "style" was very fitting to the song.

Nice job and keep it up :)

haha tha song kicks ass

funniest thing after i clicked play, i was lookin around cuz i thought someone was behind me with bells, 10 secs l8r i relized that it was tha SONG :D thatd wierded me out AHHAHAHAH

Uncky Cellar!!! You have Zzzzz most excellent Halloween song!!! I love the intro!!! It is perfecto!!

I would love to hear more of that great lead throughout the song in the background, giving it some more kick. The lead definately needs to come forth...Ooooooo that sounds spooky...Come Forth Lead!!!! Like the Mummy being summoned!!! Only the wraps come off this one!! :D

The voice modulator is excellent!!!

The ending is the best you could ever had done for it!! Sounds like a roomful of Eurts and Trues having there daily rumble!! :D

I have listened 5xs so far. I always love your stuff.

I agree with Gorty on the snare too.

I hope my destructive critism is helpful...I mean constructive!!! :D :D :D

The chimes in the beginning were barely hearable to me guys!!!

* I hid my closet *...

Nice.

The fairy dust just seems like its in a different dimension than the rest of the recording. Since I like reverb today, perhaps a bit more.

The song itself is cool, I diggeth the vox. Need to boost the vox as the others have pointed out. A lot of cool vocal stuff here and it needs to be right up on front. The feel is great, this would be cool in a movie. Well done.

Hey Cellar,
You're Welcome and I thank you for sharing your talent with us!

The fairy dust is the chimes, just a little prominent in the mix I thought!
Nice touch though!

Gorty :)

Hey man....just snagged this. Way cool dude. I agree with everyone, bring the vox up some man....cool sounds though. I really dig the vibe.....very King Diamond/Mercyful Fate stuff. Sorta. :D So, how did you do it? You know, some recording details man.

Nice tune man.
Ed

I dawned on me what you mean by "fairy dust" seconds after signing off last night :o :D .

My daughter and I did the Ahhhhhhh ahh ahh stuff. I intended to add more to that part, but it never happened.

Of course Evil Dead is sampled heavily, as I was doing this for a halloween party (but I ended up getting cold feet :o ).

Guitar is the Sans GT2 through DMP3. 3-4 guitar tracks (I think).
Zoom RT323 drum machine.
My daughters $90 Yamaha keyboard.
4 sets of windchimes hung from the rafters in the cellar w/SPB1 and SM58.
Vox are (2 tracks?) spoken "Dave Mustaine" normally, 1 track whispered, 1 track slightly growled through SPB1-which always has a strange effect on my growly vox.

I'm fairly sure (6 months later) that I didn't use any effects, outside of staggering the sampled Evil Dead parts.
This is to the best of my recollection.

Thanks so much guys.
Your criticisms and kind words are so very appreciated.

It's cellardweller fightin the 20 foot roach on the stage coach!

Cool man, freaky stuff, I like :D
I think you should try to get some powerful evil drums going here. Like try double or triple tracking the drums with different reverbs/EQs.
The vocals sound cool, but are hard to hear/understand.
The guitars sound sweet! Almost hypnotic at times, cool stuff and cool freaky track ;) Very fitting for the dwellers of the cellars!
