Haha, great solo! Love it. :)

Again, I'm thinking it needs more close mic'd kick & snare. Just a little more presence for each. Bring the vocals back into the mix a little, and bring up a little more bass. Fun little song. Again, I love the solo. great job.

Nice song! Not really my style, but it's well written. The vocals are a a little bassy. Knock some of that off. The drums could be louder.

That's about it

Good Job!:D

I like the drum levels - they are part of the backing - any loader & they'd become lead instrument!
This is a real early one Gerry, & one I really love - it has a slightly hillbilly, Buddy Holly feel to it that is really appealing.
Melody is great, and the delivery is excellent. Close harmonies are as close as a shave.
Nice addition PI!

Hey man, cool song. I think the snare could have a little more presence. It sounds the tiniest bit dead, but really this genre doesn't always have that punchy snare sound that I like so much. The kick could come up just a tad.

The main vocal is a bit up front for my taste and could use a bit of processing in my opinion.

I like the guitars a lot. Bass has nice sound too.

Overall good mix, just a few nit picks.

Cheers,

Thanks Greg - I just uploaded a new version with bass/vocal changes...

Thanks squibble - new vocal mix uploaded.

Thanks Ray - three vocals in this one, I should add more to all my songs but it's hard to sing that high...A female vocalist would be an idea maybe...

Thanks James - I did a remix as mentioned and vocals are sitting better now...

Love the mix, Gerry. You're getting better all the time. Keep it up.

Love it! Nice, bouncy tune. I would like a little more in-your-face-ness happening with the drums. They sound good, but almost too roomy, not in a "too much reverb" sense. But, it seems like the band's 3 feet away from me and the drummer's about 10 feet away. It's not drastic, but maybe a little less overheads a little more close snare and kik mic.

Aside from that (which isn't that bad), this is great.

I'd agree with most comments so far, good song, bouncy, catchy, etc. But I don't agree with:

I like the guitars a lot. Bass has nice sound too.

I think the rhythm guitars and bass are lacking substance.

The solo is lovely but the rhythm guitars sound like they were plugged directly into the PC which is probably ok if you have a good amp simulator but these are totally dry. They need to be fuller, (more bass I guess) and they lack sparkle up top, or, you could use a mic'd acoustic and I'd say you'd get a fuller feel.

The bass too is lacking IMO. It might only be that it is panned too far to one side and unbalances the whole song but I thought I heard one or two notes that weren't right for the chord. I could be wrong.

Good tune though.

Thanks RAMI - I'll defer the drum comments to Jason (Poeticintensity) who played drums on this. Just a heads up - I just got a drum mix this morning for another tune (Overtime) which has a very punchy drum mix. I think you'll like it...Give me a few days to get to the mix and I'll post it ;)

Good catch - old recording, the guitars are direct from the recording compensated jack on the back of my Marshall JCM900 amp. Not a bad sound but lacking some of the bass that the speakers provide. The high gain channel is pure fizz using that line out and I've re-recorded everything high gain using an SM57 as a result.
