This sounds really good! The drums have nice attack, but maybe they're a bit dark. For my taste, the lead vox is a bit wet--but as I listen, I'm thinking maybe it fits this song.

Everythings sitting in the mix nicely. Left & right guitars make a nice full sound and the bass is just right.

I like his voice--what mic did you use?

Thanx for the comments! I use a Studio Projects B1 for the voice, good quality for the price. Lately I biult myself a folding cabin/ partition, which I use for singin vocals in, seems to work pretty well. I put a pre-amp simulator plug on the vocal track, AM-Phibia (comes with Samplitude...) and EQ'd and compressed it with Waves SSL. On the second verse I also used a Chorus effect. With the drums, I was looking for a roomy sound, kind of Queens of the Stone Age (guy's a big fan of theirs!).

Well you did a nice job recording it--and pass it along to your friend that it's a really good song.
