That's the message I got when I installed the demo for Sonar 2.2 on top of Cakewalk 9. My mixes have been feeling sort of "mono" on Cakewalk but I never expected this....anytime I play a game/CD or whatnot it's true stereo.

I have a Soundblaster 5.1 Live! Platium, anyone know what's happening here?

This is a very common problem with WinXP and the SBLive. You need to get a different driver.

You can use the Microsoft driver that is on the WinXP CD to fix the problem. Don't use the Creative driver.

I had the same problem. It never got truly fixed until I ditched the creative card and got a Delta

Relax...

It only happened with older Creative's driver :) If you download the latest driver, it's not a problem anymore :) But better yet, use Mocrosoft's driver (comes with your Windows). If you use Windows XP, then just "roll back" the driver from Control Panel.

Sounds like the best way to fix it... ;)

Try James' suggestion. If it doesn't work because your SoundBlaster is an OEM version such as the ones supplied by Dell, you can switch to the MME drivers.

Not the greatest for latency, but at least you can work in stereo.
