Hi,

I've posted 2 pieces of instrumental music that I'm doing right now. One is just only half of the whole track and the other one is just a minute because they are not complete yet.

The tunes are called 'Freedom' and 'Clear Light' and you can hear them in here:

As always, your comments are welcome!

Thanks in advance...

Freedom - some cool synths - what kind are you using? Nice and mellow at the beginning, relaxing...The second melody patch is a bit loud, the third (flute-like) is rather nice. The drums tend to go up in volume too much around 2:40. You just need a bit of mixing to balance this out a bit and it will be very nice.....

:D :) :D :)

Nice stuff......I have to agree with ido though. Sounds a korg synth.....but I'm probably wrong...anyway, good stuff, just needs a few tweaks!!!!!

Very mellow sounds indeed m8 would be cool listening to these when your chilling out I liked the build up of adding instruments ..nice one all the best with your music dude.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your comments!

Instruments I've used are Native Absynth 2 (pads), Sonic Synth (all instruments except flute and musette) and Edirol Orchestral(flute). The only Korg sound is the Musette;-). For drums I used Stylus RMX and I record everything in Sonar 4.

Ido, with regards to your comments about second melody patch and drums at 2:40, I've posted another new one with some mixing touches.

Thanks very much for your time.

totally brings me back to the old super nintendo RPG games, mix and sounds sound fine to my ears ;) Well the 2:30 keyboard might be a little loud in the mix... nice flute ending

Hi SnakeDog5050,

Thanks for your comments.

Please can you tell me exaclty which 2:30 keyboard is little loud in the mix?

Sure, I was thinking the part that starts from 2:17, the lead melody keyboard, to 2:40. May just be my system, but that's the only part the stuck out to me. Sounds like you're going for a big build there, maybe instead of lowering that keyboard you could bring up the backing instruments around it a bit... just an idea

I like these. Freedom reminds me a bit of the band "the future sound of London". If you havent heard them you should definetly check them out. I really like that Ambient sounding synths. Personally i would add more ambience, maybe like echos and water dripping sounds in caves. That kind of thing. Really cool.

Hi Snake and Gumble thanks for your comments and I will check "the future sound of London" asap!

All I can offer is that a change in tempo at some stage might have been good. The dynamics are quite good otherwise. Ido pointed you in the right direction as has Snakedog so my comments are inessential.
I did half expect a skirling bagpipe melody at one stage - has a highland scope.

Hi Rayc,

Thanks for your comments... but I can't imagine a change of tempo at some stage in this track. With regards of the bagpipe I will think about it as this is just half of the song yet!

Hi Floralis,

I like these, both of them! I don't know how nobody have commented about ''CLear Light'', it is beautiful... It has a definite Peruvian influence with a European edge.

And ''Freedom''... sounds perfect to me!

Well done!!!!

Hi Sfalzon,

Thanks for your positive comments about the 2 tracks. Yes I love Clear Light very much too!

Regards

Nice sounds floralis.

It's probably my crappy mid-range work PC speakers, but...the lead sounds overwhelm the rest ever-so-slightly in Freedom; Clear light seems better balanced.

But they are very cool sounds, so it doesn't really matter.

Well worth finishing them :)
