heck maybe even a few hundred dimes...

Anyway, I'm going to be selling my Fender Ultimate Chorus amp quite soon (I'm picking up a new amp friday). It's old, a little bit beat up (cosmetically, not functionally) - has maybe two smallish tears in the tolex, and one small hole in the grill cloth. Here's the dilemma - it's missing one of the knobs. I can buy a 6 pack of the knobs for basically $10+$5 s/h. And I can't seem to find any place that sells them, or is willing to order them individually for me.

So the question is simply this. On ebay, lets say, do you think having all the knobs would translate ultimately to a high bid that is $15 more than the same amp w/o a knob? Is it worth it to buy a 6 pack for $15 just to sell the amp, and be stuck with 5 knobs I don't need?

I just wonder if a bidder will see the missing knob and think that it's a sign that the amps been abused or something, you know?

i don't think a few knobs are that much concern to anybody, really

Maybe my question should have been this: Anyone willing to go into guitar center and steal a knob off an amp for me? I'm too much of a chicken shit. I'll pay you $2 + shipping.

Just Kidding....

For what it's worth, I'd be put off by a missing knob. But that might be just me. Can you find an individual replacement, even if it doesn't match perfectly?

Yes. If you watch E-Bay regularly over a few months and make note of the prices various equipment sells for, you get a pretty good feel for what leads to a discount on one item over another of the same item. Missing or broken knobs are a big one. That screams "I've been abused!"

You could probably buy the 5 knobs, use one, get $25 more for your amp and E-Bay the other 4 knobs for $5 each.

Send me the picture, and I will photoshop a new knob on there for 5 bucks.

Then just blame the UPS.

Problem solved.
