I just got Cubase SX for a primary purpose, that the salesman at GT assured me could be fulfilled by SX. I love keyboards but my two keyboards are extremely limited and I like the sounds I get out of Reason (Subtractor), and I'm looking at some other synths as well, in particular Creamware's MiniMax. Anyway, my band records real instruments, real drums, etc., and all I'm looking for is a program that can handle recording the synths real-time into the multi-tracking software. The guy says this is possible and assured me how easy it would be to do this; open Reason, open Cubase. Select your track to record in Cubase, select Reason in your devices in Cubase. Play your shit in Reason and you are recording in Cubase-no problem. He showed me in the store, didn't actually record anything but had me convinced it was a snap.

Well now I can't do it, and talked to several other Cubasers and they say nay on that or at least that they don't know. So I present this before this forum: can it be done? And if so, how?

P.S. I know I can record it in Reason on it's own, save it as a .wav, then inport that into the Cubase session.

Any takers?

Here's an idea... set up reason to run seperate of Cubase and then either internally, if you have the capability, or externally, rout the audio out of Reason into Cubase. You might need two audio cards to do that. But don't run Reason via Rewire in Cubase. Just a thought.
