Worth the difference between them and the mackies? I guess that extra bass extension really helps...

I want to add a little something here...

my brother does occasional work at a local commercial studio, and he brings in our YSM1p's to do so. They have some Genelecs there that he always checks his mixes against, and he says that the YSM1's sound extremely similar to the Genelecs... which are pretty much the "golden standard." He doesn't even think the Genelecs necessarily sound better or more accurate... just slightly different.

The lead engineer that works at the studio really likes the sound of our YSM1's also, but he doesn't like the sound of the Mackies at all... so go figure. It's all a matter of taste I suppose.
