Hey Rami, just wondering, what microphone do you use to record your vocals? When I was working with the hendrix cover I noticed how bad my mic records vocals compared to yours (not to say my vocals are that great in the first place ;) & what am I doing on a message board at 4:47 in the morning...)

Snake, I must have just missed you. I left this place just before 4:40 last night. I sing into a AKG C3000B.

man this song still kicks , I`m sober and I have terrible hangover to prove it. it rocks all the same.
Very cool work rami.
Good even sounds.
exelent playing, and killer vox.

I'm fucked. I wonder if the post office is hiring.

Rami cooper you rock!
Is the tempo a little faster than Alices version. Nothing is wrong with it, I just have not listened alices version for some time.

Timmeth!!! i think it's pretty close to the original version's tempo...then agian, I tend to drink too much coffee...:)

You need more beer to offset that.

I can get the llama to lay down a solid vocal track for any of your songs. just let me know ;)

Hey Rami real nice job an the classic Alice man!Are you doing the one man band thing or is this a whole band recording?Nice guitar work and the vocals are right on.My band covers this and as a three piece it's real hard to get a full sound for us like the original(2 guitar players)...we just kinda muscle it out there :) ....annnyy ways, nice work man...keep em' coming!

Thanx buddy. No, no band, I always record alone. Like I said earlier, this song has a lot of stuff in the original. There are at least 3 guitars on hte original. Must be hard 3 piece, but with enough energy, you could probably pull it off live. I have to hear the Megadeath version. I didn't know they did it until Metalhead mentioned it.

Drums sound great as usual Rami. same with the singing. Good work.
Sorry to say it again as im repeating myself but the guitars really let the track down.
Have you tried using Sm57 and Sm58 combination or different mics.
Im still thinking that its your source thats the problem. Think it is the amp, but just a guess.
The rest of the track sounds real good.
How loud do you set your amp when recording? If you have it lowish then I would boost the amp so its pretty loud but not so loud that the speakers start to distort or rumble too much. Put your ear right up to each speaker to listen for which one sounds the best and to check for distorting or rumbling from too much volume. Just watch you dont have it so loud that you damage your ears. And also check with both your ears as sometimes people have a slightly different hearing of tone in each ear.

Eck.
Hope i didnt offend you atall just trying to let you into some of my experiences of recording.

Ahhh sounds like you maybe dont have enough lo end and your mics are a little too far away from the amp speakers maybe or you ar using the amp reverb. I usually dont use any amp reverb and then add it at the mixing stage for more control.
Cut the high end of the reverb to around 4-5K and maybe use a pre delay on the reverb of 8-15ms. Just rough ideas if it helps atall.

Thanx Eck, no offense taken. I'm here to learn. I have the mic right up against the grill. I don't use any amp reverb, and I only add a slight bit at mix down. But I'll cut the high's on the reverb. It could be how I'm eqing the guitars too. I don't do a lot of eq'ing but I do cut 2 or 3 db's at about 300-400 with a shelf. I'll keep working on it and definitely try some of your suggestions. Getting a guitar sound is something I only started worrying about much later in life, so I don't have a life time of knowledge on it. Time to read up a little more and really work on it. Thanx.

If you recorded that without thinking,...

then I bow down and kiss yer damn feet!

  ;)

Critique: In a word: Excellent!

Thanx Reel. You don't have to bow down and kiss my damn feet...You are worthy, you are worthy. :)

I just finished putting together a 10 song CD of my music, so I'm a little dry in the writing department and just wanted to let loose and play without thinking. So I recorded a version of "No More Mr. Nice Guy" yesterday. Alice Cooper is the first rock band I ever really got into back in the day, so it was cool to do this. Let me know if anything sticks out as not being right. I might have overdone it with the distortion on the intro riff. Thanx and enjoy...I hope.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

Maybe just a TAD overshot on the intro distortion. Maybe it's the edgy EQ though. It settles into a fatter thing almost immediately, so it's a misplaced sound, not a bad sound.

Other than that, I simply maintain my standing position about you: You're a mutant, and I hate you.

You're one tasty ubermudderfooker.

That's why I hate you.

There, I feel much better now. :) :)
