Well, I was very depressed the other day to find out that my PC wasnt able to run the new EMU 1820, but Ive run into some luck, and just maybe I have the specs to run it now.
I financed a new PC today, and I still have money left over to buy the soundcard. My question to you guys, is weather or not my new PC is compatable with the EMU 1820, so here goes. My specs are:
Intel Pentium 4 processor at 2.8 Ghz
My motherboard is an ASUSTeK Computer Inc P4SX-X, with a ASUSTeK Computer Inc SiS648 CPU to PCI bridge Chipset.
I have 256 MB of DDR-SDRAM
An 80 gig 7200 RPM Hard drive
I have 6 PCI slots with a 2.10 interface version.
A 52x32x52x CD-RW
And Im running Windows XP Professional
Is my new PC compatable with the EMU 1820? PLEASE tell me it is, I only baught this PC in the hopes that it'll help with my audio recording/mixing.
Im aware its not the latest in highend, but its sole purpose will be to record great quality audio with a new sound card. I plan on upgrading the ram to at least 512 MB in the near future, but will 256 work for now? I plan on recording at 24 bit/96 Khz 1 track at a time. My only complaint with this PC so far is that the fan seems a little loud.
Anyways, I appretiate any feedback you guys can give me. Thanks for your time.
