Just wondering if anyone has used or heard of the quality of the Yamaha Steinberg MR816 CSX?
suppose to be a killer 8 channel converter with built in effects!
It looks killer. 8 high end Yammie mic pre's plus their high end reverb for $700.
I have a very bad taste from horrible customer service (disservice?) with Steinberg in this last month. One thing I've found with Steinberg after 20+ years with them is when you buy something from them you are on your own.
I used to have a Layla 20 bit interface. What I liked about it, and don't like about the Yamaha Steinberg unit and the M-Audio Delta 1010LT I'm using now was that the Layla was 8 in and 10 out. That way you could leave 9&10 out hooked up to your monitor amp/speakers and still have 8 outs to match your 8 ins. I don't know why that isn't the norm. The way the others work ends up being 8 in and 6 out.
