I'm in debate with myself of whether or not I should purchase the HS10W to add to my pair of HS50M's for the added low end that the speakers are missing.. Is it worth it? I engineer a lot of hip hop and wobbles, and my lows are just so ever absent! Should I go for the HS10W? or go for monitors with more added low end (KRK rokit 5's?) Thanks!

It would be better to have a sub rather than muddy bass produced by the Rokits.

Make sure your room is adequately treated. And do make sure the volume of the sub is at a *perfect* level (this level is somewhat arbitrary). Seriously, I remember turning down my sub once to get an idea of the song without it, and I turned it back up to what I thought was good. Turns out it was slightly off and my bass was off as a result. Took me a good day to get it at the right level for me.

Alright, thank you for the fast reply. So purchasing the woofer would be a smarter purchase for me at this point than to "sidegrade" to a better (not krk) set of monitors?... I just moved my studio into the basement and i will be posting pictures in a couple of days for tips/help/opinions on treating the room.

Yes, for what you are doing, especially if you are going to do sub-bass, a subwoofer is definitely a necessity. But the room treatment is also a necessity! Make sure that's done and there are other members that could help you out there. I'm not so knowledgeable when it comes to dimensions and all of dat! :D
