Yahooo!!! i just got my MXL's

I just got my MXL 990 and MXL 993. 990 for vocal and 993 for acoustic guitar. Im getting rid off my RODE NT1a and NT3. I dont like the sound of highness, too harsh. MXL are smoother. I just tried it today. Anyway just asking if which is better for my martin d15 acoustic guitar? 990 or 993?

I'd say since you have them both in your possesion, you might try them both, and then make a decision.

btw...I have a couple of 990 myself. Not a bad mic for the $$.

probably the 993 but i hear (no pun intended) both sound good

but...I'd probably try the 993 first....unless I wanted to impress the guitar player with the cool lookin' 990

Well, I would try both at the same time:
993 on the fretboard & 990 behind bridge. The reverse might work as well. Or, either one individually. Or, neither...
