I'm not a defrag slackered but I'm wondering..
If you defrag then record and you don't erase anything on the drive before the next session, do you need to defrag the next time?
When you erase items after a defrag then you start to get the small open holes which the software tries to fill with data. But if have not erased anything since your last session shouldn't any new audio data go to the open area of the drive?
I guess I'm having trouble understanding the need to defrag every session if you have a hard drive set aside for audio file use only.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
