XP / Vista Starter Edition

Hey! A friend of mine is building his new dedicated DAW...

He asked me if I knew the XP Starter Edition... His supposition is that a bare naked OS may help not wasting CPU resources... (+ is way cheaper)

Anyone tried Starters edition?

Maybe need to check to make sure it can be tweaked,things like firewall etc are set to always on with Starter Edition,probably can be but better to check
