I run my Mackie control in Cubase SL3 and all I had to do is plug in the midi and start the program, go into the device set-up screen, I cant remember how it is in pro tools, and select mackie control and I was up and running, I didnt like the manual for the bcf, if you can set it for Baby HUI then go to the drop down list for midi and you should find it....I think  I know you have to use Baby HUI...

Dude, calm down.... It's only been 30 minutes.

Make sure you have the latest updates for the BCF driver and firmware installed.

You have to put the BCF2000 into "b-Hui" mode. Read the manual, I think you hold down one of the buttons on power-up.

6.4 doesn't have some of the personality files installed automatically, you have to copy them from the PTLE 6.4 CD. Find the file on the CD, should be named HUI.dll and Motor Mix.dll, etc
Copy them to the
C:\Program Files\Digidesign\DAE Folder\Controllers
or
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Controllers.
I can't remember which, but you should already have one of those folders in you C:\ drive.

Then go in PT,
1 Choose Setups > Peripherals and click on
MIDI Controllers.
2 Choose your MIDI control surface device (HUI)
name from the Type pop-up menu.
3 Choose the MIDI control surface’s source port
from the Receive From pop-up menu.
4 Choose a destination port from the Send To
pop-up menu.
5 Number of channels, select 8

thanx.....that helped a whole lot :)

Glad you could get it sorted. I upgraded from 6.1 to 6.4 a while back and my Motor Mix quit working. I went through the same thing, pulling my hair out, til I realized that for some unknown reason Digi wrote the 6.4 installer so it didn't copy over the personality files, bastards.:D

PTLE 6.4 upgrade doesnt have the HUI.DLL Files !!!

Hi Guys,

I downloaded the PTLE 6.4 upgrade, and it is a single EXE with 2 PDF files, and I too have had my HUI go away. So when I got my brand-spankin-new BCF2000 controller, I thought I was going batty until I discovered this thread.

Thanks a zillion, but can anyone tell me where I can get the hui.dll and any others I might be missing? - although I might just need the hui and motor dll's. I also tried cracking open the CAB files (WinZip and WinRAR) to see if I could get just the DLL's, but they are non-standard (go figure).

Thanks in advance,
Phillip
