Just to let you know, I've seen posts about guys cutting down sm57 clips to fit a 421's with no problems just a little effort.

not sure what kind of attenuator that is...I have a couple of whirlwind -30db xlr attenuators laying around....something similar?

It's just an inline pad. It's got two xlr connecters and a switch for -10, -15, -20 I think.

mine are inline xlr pads but no switch....just -30db...interrested?

Depends on how much. If they're too expensive I'd rather just buy the Shure ones with the variable db cut.

The spring loaded clamps that Ive used hold the 421s pretty tight. Ive had no problems with them.
