Thanks man, but thats like 150% or more overpriced AND its a demo sale. I'm not sure what they're thinking on that one. GC sold them at one point for $39.

Make sure you pick up on ewith a Serial #. Any Oktava M219 seems to run about $75 these days, the GC ones were Chinese without a serial #, any ASM era mics were deemed inauthentic by Oktava but if you go for it, get one with a serial. You might just wanna buy a modded one http://www.oktavamod.com/ I had my MKL 2500 modded and it turned it from something pretty good to something great.

Thanks. I thought the MK319 was the only one that got faked? That sucks. I absolutely plan on doing the premium Oktavamod, I'm just trying to save some money from buying a new one. Looks like I'm going to buy it outright from him unless I change my mind. Again.
Geez picking the right vocal mic is a fucking pain.

The MK-012 was faked. I'm not aware of any of the others (including the 319). That's not saying that GC didn't nag Oktava into cost-reduced variants of the others that Oktava would like to disown, but only the 012 is actually a fake, AFAIK, and web pages from Oktava seem to agree with this:

http://oktava.tula.net/fake/

Also, A.S.M. does not indicate that a mic is fake. That was the U.S. importer, and every Oktava originally sold in the U.S. up until the rift bears that mark. It's actually very rare to see Oktava mics without that label over here.

The only ones that are fake are the ones in the last few months or so prior to when GC dropped the product line. The 012s can be most easily recognized by the non-silver-plated center pin in the element.

Similarly, no Oktava mics had a serial number until about a year ago. Thus, any used Oktava will almost never have a serial number. For this reason, that's not a very good way to determine authenticity, either.

If you ask for a price quote from Oktavamod, he'l lsend you a pdf with prices and stuff, and there are pictures on it of the insides of the fake 319's. They have CHANG capacitors in them, its the instant giveaway. Says SHANG real big on them. He said they arent too bad really, but not as good.

I bought a new fully premium modded 219 from Oktavamod yesterday. Samples to come soon.

Like I said, GC pushed for cost cuts. That doesn't necessarily mean that they weren't built by Oktava.

Nah, the ones with the CHANG stuff in them are totally fake and very closely ripped off. Chinese are riculous when it comes to that stuff.

I thought all versions of that brand where faked.

I bought all models ecexpt the ribbon when GC was practically giving them away. So I got a MK-319 still in the original tube with the russian paperwork tucked away. I modified the other one. The 2500 I have i believe is a fake. The mc-012's I have I know are fake.

How could they ALL be faked? Its a real company. Ever see the AKG and Sennheiser (421) ripoffs on the chinese website? I think the 421 ripoffs were like $30 each. Looked dead like it.

So what mods did you do to it, and how did it turn out?
Want to let go of the 319 for what you paid for it? You can open it and see if it ahs chang in it, its very obvious.
