Why buy them used? They're dirt cheap at musiciansfriend.com and places like that. About twenty something for the stand with boom and about nine for the cable.

i just picked up their "deal" on 6 of the On Stage stands for $100. It was $108 after shipping (and that was 40+lbs), which comes to $18 a stand, which is far cheaper than i can find them locally OR on ebay. individually, expect to pay about $30/stand (with shipping included).

Then get yourself a few of their $5 20ft cables (<http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...218/g=live/search/detail/base_id/41001?netp=1>) and you'll be set.

Yeah I got their 6 pack with bag a year ago. No problems yet and they're used almost every weekend. Of course I take care of my gear too.
