WTB: Furman Pl-8 II or equivilent power conditioner

so to the same metal that the brown wire is connecting to?
and isnt it supposed to be TRS cable?

you just use this cable in place of another cable?
 
balanced (trs) and unbalanced (ts) both have a signal ground. the point seemed to be to remove any potential between signal ground and power ground. makes sense to me. btw, the brown wire was supposed to be copper color.

i'm trying to figure out how in the hell to fit both a 10 awg wire and the audio cable in the back of a 1/4" plug. there's no room! :confused: i guess i could solder the 10 awg wire to outside of the plug?

Use thinner wire. Audio cables for instruments and mics don't have to hold their voltage under any appreciable load, so the wire gauge doesn't matter that much (particularly for such a short cable).

Belden 8451 is probably an ideal choice for this application. It's about half as thick as a typical mic cable; I have eight of the things running in a single piece of that rubber cord cover material that you buy at Office Depot or wherever. :D
