Wow!!!! I listened to that????

I am not ashamed to say I listened to some punk bands in my day...... In the land of mid 80's rock ballads, I was still looking for some hard driving guitars...

Well...... In my Ebay box when the Nanoverb arrived were three CD's from Junk Records :The Bulemics, New Wave Hookers, and The Spitfires. With the wife gone, I put them in my computer, put on my headphones and started rockin out.

Well..... after the third song...... (maybe the same song.... I don't know), I realized nothing ever changed....all the melodies, riffs, and screaming sound the same.

I was hoping one of the CD's would be different, but I'm halfway through the third one now and.....nope.....

...... I have to remember to stop teasing my boys about their music.........

I am finding most music the same old thing nowadays, nothing new coming out.

I felt the same back in the early 90's but I was then saved by Portishead.

There's plenty of new and incredible music coming out. Amen Dunes Love, Mikal Cronin MCII, War On Drugs Slave Ambient and Lost In The Dream, Beach House's last 4 albums... Music only stops being exciting and new when you aren't aware of it.

Anyways, why be ashamed of liking anything, ever? Whatever moves ya my man.
