i feel like there are many things i still need to add to my studio:

upgrade my drum mics: i need overheads, a kick drum mic, thinkin about tom mics still

compressors: i do not own one currently and after finally understanding how to use one i realized i really need one .... lol :)

i want to upgrade my mixer: i have a behringer mx 3282A right now and im looking to buy a Soundtracs topaz project-8

buying my first pre-amp also: mostly thinking about a M-audio TAMPA for vocals

i think thats it .... i really dont know what order to do these things in .. what do you think?

actually let me add everything up right now

Drum Mics: around $500
Compressor: around $300
Mixer upgrade: $1,100
Tampa: $400

Total: $2,300............. ut oh so far i only have 300

what should my first proreity be???

Its tought to suggest without listening to one of your recorded tracks. Could you upload one?

Gotta love that Floyd sound. It sounds pretty darn good to me overall. I would say vocals are the weakest point (though I still think they're quite good). So I would suggest a good vocal pre-amp or even a new mic (what mic are you currently using?). Keep up the good work young'n.

hey thanks! ;) Right now im using a mic i got for free which is a MXL V63M. I'm looking at a audio technica 4040. As for preamps im thinking about the M-audio Tampa... ive heard many good things about it

Yeah I concur with pdadda, I'm liking that work. The chops are all really there but it seems the mix is a bit outta wack but very good overall. I 'd like to hear a little less rythmn and a little more bass. Good stuff though. My initial upgrade thought would be your board. Getting a bank of better preamps can only help every mic going in plus a much nicer eq. If you do get a compressor (300.00 range) I would recommend the Art Pro VLA, it's really a great little unit that has found it's way into some high end places. I love mine & it's great on vocals.
