Reluctant Commander
In an old Crate BX100. It's a 15 inch, 150w, 4 ohm Eminence that was custom made for Crate back in the day........meaning there are no longer any 4 ohm speakers available from Eminence.

It's not bad, I just use it at home and at jams, I dont gig with it or anything......but if it could sound better for the price of a new speaker, especially if it's under $200, it might be worth it?? It has a slight buzz or rattle in it, I think some punk high school kids cranked it up full and thumped on it one night while it was being stored at my brothers house and no adults were home. It had the buzzing noise in it when I got it back from his place a couple weeks later.

What will I lose (or gain) by sticking an 8 ohm speaker in there when it was designed to have a 4 ohm? And is Eminence the best pick for a bass cab replacement?? Weber doesn't really make anything that will handle the 100w rms this amp kicks out, and I'm not sure if Celestion would have a good bass speaker or not.....??

Any suggestions? (Besides collecting the $$$$$ from my brother and his punk rugrats).....
