Hey there,

I've been dealing with equipment in my own little world for about 2 years now but really have no technological knowledge at all.. I like doing online radio and would love to add a compressor to my Behringer Eurorack UB1002, but do not have a clue how.

Anyone recommend how, and what I need? Consider that I'm 16, still in high school, and on a pretty tight budget, but still want a nice radio-sounding compression.

If it can be done with software - even better! It just needs to be live as it goes into my computer, it is compressed.

Any ideas?
Nathe.

Hmmm. What exactly do you need to compress? Is this for live use or recording?

A combination of both.

It's only microphone voice that needs compressing. It's for both live streaming radio and recording vocal radio links, and the occasional sung vocal.

I'd imagine you'd want something transparent, and simple and inexpensive. I don't have a ton of compressor experience but I've used an RNC for 8 years and loved it. It is all of the above.

If you're doing live broadcast I'd think the RNC would be perfect ($175 used, $250ish new I think). If you're recording any DAW will have a decent transparent compressor that would work just fine.

Nevermind, $175 NEW! For that price I might go pick up another one.
