Well today when I was at my local music store, I came across a package that consisted of a CAD GXL3000, two GXL1200's, and a pop filter. At the music store it was $299, but on eBay it's $225.

How does the CAD GXL3000 compare to a Studio Projects B3? The B3 is what I was planning on getting, but this CAD mic seems fairly nice...I'm just wondering if they're anywhere close to each other quality-wise.

Also, are the GXL1200's decent? They're probably not as great as 603's, but in deal deal it's technically $65 for two of them, which is around the price for one.

Even if the GXL1200's aren't that good, if the GXL3000 isn't bad would it (the package) be worth getting?

The GXL1200's aren't bad. I got a pair for free in some promotion from Bayview Pro Audio. I used them for overheads a couple times with decent results, but my 81's and 3035's have that slot right now. I use the CADs for the occasional hight-hat or ride reinforcement. They're also ok for a snare bottom mic, or taped to the side of a 57 on the snare top (on account of its a cheap condensor that sounds decent, and you won't mind if it gets whacked with a Vic Firth).

Don't know anything about the other mic.

Well do you think they'd be decent? I'm not looking for super fancy mics, I can always sell them for a little bit and replace them and get a pair of 603's/604's.

I really just want to know if the GXL3000 is a good mic and if the GXL1200's are decent, and if this package would be worth getting for $225.

I have that package, I think if you look around you will find it a little cheaper try american musical supply. Seems like I've seen it a little under 2 bills.
Any way the the 3000 has a very nice colored sound I used mine a lot till I got a AT4040 now that gets most of the use regarding vocals.
As for the 1200 they are ok for what they do probably best for over heads on drums. But I have used them for acoustic guitar and even saxaphone with decent results.
That mic filter will drive you crazy reinforce it with a coat hanger or two then it will be a little more useable.
